Community asks for support to help WMU staff, student employees (WWMT)

WMU faculty, students and alumni ask for community's help to provide aid for students and staff.

Vickie Edwards, a Western Michigan University assistant professor for the School of Public Affairs and Administration, is one of the main organizers behind the school’s new solidarity fund for students and employees, WWMT reports.

Edwards said it would still be weeks before impacted staff have used up their leave, but said requests from students were already at more than$32,0441 in just less than two days from when the solidarity fund was announced.
