Judge rejects bid by landscapers, garden shops to reopen immediately
The lawsuit hoped to block the governor's stay-at-home order for plant nurseries and landscapers.
The Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association asked for an emergency injunction against enforcement of the governor’s stay-at-home order as it applies to landscapers, lawn-care businesses and garden centers. But U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney refused to issue that injunction before the state had a chance to reply.
MLive reported that Maloney said that the plaintiffs had to prove “irreparable injury” for a judge to issue an injunction before the other party can answer.
