Kalamazoo County has 300 coronavirus cases

Daily total of new COVID-19 cases below 11 for the first time in weeks.

Kalamazoo County has now had 300 people test positive for COVID-19, according to data from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services released Monday.

There were eight new cases of coronavirus on Monday, which marks a decrease in recent daily totals. The last time Kalamazoo County had fewer than 11 new cases was April 15, according to a report on MLive.

The county reported one new death on Sunday, bringing the total to 12. The most recent person to die from the coronavirus was between 60 and 79 years old and did not have any underlying health conditions.
