Kalamazoo opening emergency daycares for employees

Childcare centers would serve essential KPS employees.

Kalamazoo Public Schools is working on opening two emergency relief daycare centers, according to a report from WWMT.

A spokesperson for the district said that the centers would serve KPS employees who are classified as essential workers, a category that includes teachers, administrators, and food-prep workers.

The centers would be housed at existing facilities at Loy Norrix High School and Greenwood Elementary School. Childcare would be provided free-of-charge to employees.
