May Art Hop will be virtual

The monthly event can't be held in person, so it will be held online.

The first Friday of every month, Kalamazoo’s artists open their doors to the community. That can’t happen next month due to the coronavirus pandemic so the local art community is gathering virtually instead of physically.

On Friday, May 1, from 5 to 7pm, artists are invited to post images online using the hashtags #Virtual #ArtHop. The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo is also curating its own display via its Facebook page.

The Arts Council did something similar in April, gathering artists and their artwork online. This month, the group is planning to boost its offerings by also convening online discussions around each post.
