Parks in Kalamazoo to close Tuesday, state trails remain open

The city closed down playground facilities and picnic pavilions on March 20, but trouble enforcing social distancing.

The city of Kalamazoo announced all city parks will be closed beginning Tuesday, April 7 to protect public health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, MLive reports.

The latest step is being taken after large gatherings were observed in multiple city parks over the weekend, deputy city manager Jeff Chamberlain told MLive.
