Residents of two Kalamazoo facilities test positive for coronavirus
Seventeen residents and three employees of a Kalamazoo nursing home have tested positive for COVID-19.
County health officials said they are providing “personal protective equipment supplementary support, staff education, and infection prevention technical assistance to all community partners and long-term care facilities and nursing homes” including MediLodge.
At the same time, one resident of Kalamazoo’s only overnight homeless shelter has tested positive for COVID-19. The county says the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission has isolated the person and is working to screen all residents and employees for the virus.
