Governor extends order allowing expired driver’s licenses and registration

The order makes allowances for people who have not been able to visit the secretary of state's office due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Friday extended an executive order that lets people off the hook if their driver’s license or license plate tabs are out of date.

The move extends an existing rule that allows people to keep driving even though their driver’s license or vehicle registration may be out of date. The effected date range is between February 1 and June 30 of this year.
