Kalamazoo bus service to resume May 18

Kalamazoo Metro Transit announced Monday that it will restart bus service beginning May 18. Transit service has been shut down since April 2.
Bus service won’t come back full steam. Buses will only run Mondays through Saturdays between 6:15am and 6:15pm. Also, two routes – 12-Duke and 21-Solon – won’t run at all.
However, riders will not have to pay a fare for the time being.
Metro Transit will require riders to adhere to COVID-19 rules, such as wearing face masks.
“We are looking forward to providing additional transportation for those needing to get to essential destinations,” Kalamazoo Metro Transit Executive Director Sean McBride said in a statement on Facebook. “(We) want the community to be respectful of each other and the bus drivers as bus service resumes.”
