Kalamazoo City voters can drop off absentee ballots Tuesday

Tuesday is election day in Michigan and Kalamazoo City leaders are encouraging residents to drop off their absentee ballots at a new drop box rather than deliver them inside.
As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, all polling places will be closed. All voters were sent absentee ballot applications in April. Those who responded should have received absentee ballots and can return them until 8pm Tuesday.
Those who have not received an absentee ballot and those who want to register and vote can stop by Kalamazoo City hall. The city clerk’s office will be open from 7am to 8pm.
According to an article on MLive, the new drop box will continue to be used after the election for regular city business such as tax payments, board applications, and even letters to city officials.
The drop box is located on St. John’s Place near Lovell Street outside city hall.
