Review: Governor has issued 69 executive orders in 56 days
On March 10, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a state of emergency for the entire state of Michigan as a response to the novel coronavirus crisis.
Since then, the governor has issues 69 executive orders to try to mitigate the disaster. Those orders have covered a wide range of issues and have upended the lives of residents.
One order closed schools for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. Another required people working in grocery stores and pharmacies to wear masks. Some orders simply extended previous orders.
MLive has compiled a list of all of Governor Whitmer’s executive orders related to the coronavirus along with dates and explanations.
