Governor extends COVID-19 rules for grocery stores

The rules governing use of face masks and other measures are now set to expire July 15.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Thursday issued an executive order extending rules meant to protect staff and shoppers at grocery stores and pharmacies.

The order is similar to ones issued in the April and May. This one is set to expire July 15.

The order requires anyone entering a grocery or pharmacy to wear a face mask. It also requires time to be set aside each week to allow shopping only by people most at risk for contracting COVID-19.
