Kalamazoo Public Schools wants to know what parents are worried about when it comes to plans to return to class in the fall.
The district will hold a series of six online listening sessions to get input from parents of KPS students. They will be led by Mia Henry, the former director of the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership at Kalamazoo College.
“The input sessions are designed to allow stakeholders to offer suggestions and identify the conditions which must exist to reopen schools safely,” according to a post on the district’s website.
Sessions will be held between June 26 and July 1 and conducted via Zoom or streamed over Youtube and Facebook.
They are scheduled as follows:
- 9am Friday, June 26 (with Spanish translation)
- 9am Monday, June 29 (with translation into Arabic, French, and Kinyarwandan)
- 7pm Monday, June 29
- 9am Tuesday, June 30
- 6:30pm Tuesday, June 30
- 7pm Wednesday, July 1
