Coronavirus cases spike again in Michigan
State officials reported a staggering number of new coronavirus infections Wednesday: 891. It’s the highest daily total in two months and brings the seven day moving average to 579.
Most of the increase comes from the state’s most populous counties: Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland Counties. Kalamazoo County’s daily total was lower than average with seven confirmed new cases.
The statewide surge in cases comes at the same time as a corresponding surge in testing. State officials reported more than 33,800 COVID-19 tests Wednesday, the highest single day total so far.
