Michigan reports 699 new cases of COVID-19
State health officials reported 699 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, the second highest daily total in the month of July. The seven day moving average moved up to 586 new cases per day.
Health officials also reported seven new deaths from the coronavirus, though six of those were due to the reclassification of previous deaths.
New deaths remain consistently low even as the infection rate climbs in Michigan. The seven day moving average of COVID-19 deaths is seven deaths per day. Health experts warn that deaths are a lagging indicator.
