State reports 761 new COVID cases as positive rate declines
Michigan reported more than 41,000 COVID-19 test results Wednesday, the second highest level since the pandemic began in March. Just 2.4% of those tests came back positive, marking the lowest positivity rate since June.
Health officials reported 761 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the seven day moving average up to 703 new cases per day. They also reported seven new deaths from the virus.
Kalamazoo County health officials reported eight new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday and five new cases Wednesday. The county only reports numbers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The county also reported one new death from the virus, the first in more than a week.
