State reports 451 new COVID cases, 7 deaths

The dip in new infections is attributed to a low number of tests.

Michigan health officials reported 451 new cases of COVID-19 in the state Monday. The seven day moving average dropped to 687 new infections per day.

The low number of new cases is due in part to the relatively low number of tests administered in the previous days. There were only 19,760 tests reported Sunday – the first time testing has dipped below 20,000 since mid-July.
