Five holiday activities around Kalamazoo

Many holiday activities have been put on hold due to COVID, but there are still things to do to get into the spirit.

This holiday season is set to be like no other with longstanding traditions like the annual holiday parade cancelled for this year. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get into the spirit in other ways.

MLive published a brief list of five things you can still do this year to celebrate the holiday season.

Stroll Candy Cane Lane: Though the annual tree lighting ceremony was cancelled, Bronson Park has been decorated for the holidays like every year.

Shop the Kalamazoo Mall: The Kalamazoo Mall is open to shoppers. And though mask wearing and social distancing make it a different experience than usual, local retailers would love to have you. Be sure to visit the Nature Connection before they close for good at the end of the year.

Visit Santa: The jolly old elf is open by appointment only at the Radisson Plaza Hotel beginning December 5.

See the lights at Gull Meadow Farms: Gull Meadow Farms on Gull Road is already a-glitter with holiday decorations. Reservations are required this year to keep the farm under capacity.

Have a dog photo with the Grinch or Santa: Your dog can get into the holiday spirit by having their photo taken with either the Grinch or Santa Claus. Beowoof Provisions for Pets will host photos on December 6 and 13.
