Mass vaccination event planned for Friday

Kalamazoo's Family Health Center hopes to vaccinate more than 500 people.

The Family Health Center is holding a drive-through vaccination event this Friday. The Kalamazoo medical center has more than 500 doses of vaccine on hand and hopes to vaccinate at least that many people.

The event will be held at Mayor’s Riverfront Park in downtown Kalamazoo from 9am to 6pm. They are sticking to state guidelines for what groups of people are eligible to be vaccinated.

Currently, the following groups are eligible:

  • People age 50 and older
  • People age 18 and older with a disability or medical condition
  • People who care for those with disabilities or medical conditions
  • K-12 school workers
  • People who work in agriculture or food processing facilities
