Food trucks plus vaccines

A Friday food truck rally in Kalamazoo will also serve up COVID vaccines.

Everybody loves a food truck rally. That’s why county health officials plan to join one on Friday with a crew of medical workers ready to administer COVID-19 vaccines.

Kalamazoo plays host to a food truck rally on the second Friday of every month. It’s a popular event that brings a variety of food vendors to the parking lot of the former Wayside West on Stadium Drive throughout the spring and summer months.

Kalamazoo County’s Department of Health and Community Services is handling the popup vaccination clinic. They’re offering both the Pfizer and the Johnson & Johnson vaccines. The shots are free and no appointment is required.

The rally runs from 5:30 to 7:30pm on Friday. Vaccines will be available as long as they last.
