Kalamazoo needs more independent journalism. Join us.

NowKalamazoo is an independent news start-up dedicated to changing the narrative of Kalamazoo with a truly local voice. Local journalism increases community trust and sense of belonging, decreases government corruption and spending, increases public involvement in civic affairs, and improves the funding of public institutions.

Your tax-deductible donation helps us tell the stories of Kalamazoo County – from the key public policy decisions, to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the ongoing homelessness crisis, injustice, and misinformation, to features about local entrepreneurs, chefs and restauranteurs, and culture-makers.

An average story costs $400 to produce. Any amount of financial support goes directly to producing local journalism.

Secure, tax deductible online donations can be made by clicking here via our Fiscal Sponsor: the Public Media Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to community empowerment as a hub for civic media.
